I think I might have a virus attack because not only it blew my index file, it took away the outlook repair (scanpst.exe) file too. I did a restore from the backup and rebuilt the index. It is working fine now.

I want to add that I still have the "Search Indexed Locations" folder which would let me search my Documents, pictures and Excel contents. But the Outlook contents cannot be found.

I am using version 4.0.2
In Classic Windows Explorer, I used to have a Search Outlook folder. When I clicked on it I was able to search the contents of my Outlook emails.
All of sudden, the Search Outlook is missing on the Searches folder under my User.
How do I get it back?

I am on CS 4.0.2 and it worked great until Windows 8.1 upgrade. After the upgrade, the start menu kept being replaced by the Windows metro start on the lower left corner. I can bring it back by running ClassicStartMenu.exe but it will soon be replaced again. Any fix to this?

OK. I created the "New Search" on my desktop. But it wouldn't let me pin it to the taskbar, the Start Menu, or the Favorite.

It may be related to the new status bar feature. For example it may be trying to display the total size of all files in the search folder, which can take a long time. To verify that, open Classic Explorer settings and uncheck "Show status bar" in the Status Bar tab. That solved the proble...
