if the desktop is heavily used, the nav pane gets very long and a pain.

Is there a possibility of an option to put desktop folders as sub items of the desktop? (meaning, the same as how subfolders of C: appear under C: and are not added at the end of the tree)

Doesn't really help - a user may want to enjoy flexibility and show both options. For example normally shutdown-and-update , but if in a hurry, shutdown-without-updating . If a user has gone as far as to customise the menu contents, it might help to give that as an option for completeness as well.

At the moment, the dropdown "standard commands" for start menu items includes entries for "shutdown" and "restart". The trouble is that Windows automatically changes these to "Update and shutdown" and "Update and restart" (and doesn't show the simple...
