Hmm it happens only for Metro apps with white background and only if the setting for All Programs style is set to "Inside main menu" (tree control) and only if the icons are not inverted. Inverting the icons fixes it. That just confuses me even more... all I know is this was not a problem... |

I don't think you understand what I'm asking. 1) Set your skin to Metro 2) Turn on the setting to invert the Metro icons 3) Restart the menu as instructed 4) See if you get an icon in the apps menu and what color is it They come back in the start menu apps folder if they're inverted. I'm okay with ... |

Ivo wrote: I understand. What I'm trying to figure out is if you are seeing a missing icon or a white icon on a white background. Doing the test I proposed will check that. I see the icons when I move them around. They're only white if I copy them to desktop. Missing only seems to be in the apps menu. |

Yeah, that's normal. Those shortcuts don't work on the desktop, just the start menu. These two apps have a white background. Most apps also have a white icon. Maybe in your case you get both, and then the entire thing is white. Try using a colored skin, like Metro, and also turn on the setting to i... |

Can you show me a screenshot of your Apps menu? http://i.imgur.com/UVZqUrO.jpg It won't show all of my apps, but it will show the two not displaying icons (Amazon and Netflix). As far as I know, I haven't changed anything... it's a fully up to date 64 bit Windows 8.1 and all I did was update to Cla... |

After I installed 4.2.5, I noticed two missing icons for my apps - Amazon and NetFlix. My other apps have their icons. I remember this happening before and one of you developers was able to send me a fix. Could you please look into this again for me? The only change since my last bug report topic is... |

You could do basic troubleshooting yourself like determining if the problem you have with Explorer.exe and Classic Shell is caused by the Start Menu or Explorer add-ons. Try installing without the Start menu and only the Explorer add-ons. Does Explorer.exe load then? Then install the Start Menu com... |

Okay, still rebooting and loading up normally with Classic Shell uninstalled. Hope those files serve you well and you can figure out a fix. I won't be surprised if Microsoft changed something again like the last time you guys helped me. Good luck... for now I'm fine using the normal start menu, but ... |

OK. Let's try few more tests: Install version 4.2.4 again Run regedit, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu\Settings, create a new DWORD named LogStartup and set it to 1 Download Classic Shell Utility from here: http://classicshell.net/downloads/ Then restart, and when Explorer... |

By "reboot successfully" I mean, you reboot, log in, and get Explorer and everything. Is everything working correctly without Classic Shell being installed? Yes. I'm sorry if I confused you. If I uninstall Classic Shell... and then reboot (using ctrl + alt + del) it restarts normally, Win... |

Ivo wrote: If you just uninstall Classic Shell, can you reboot successfully? Yes. Rebooting works fine, it's just explorer doesn't seem to be loading. I get a black screen. I also tried going back to 4.2.3 using the 'archive" site and it happens with that... which is strange, you guys helped me with 4.2.3 |

Once again, unfortunately, I have a problem with this new version of Classic Shell. 4.2.4 on Windows 10 What's happening this time is it appears Explorer isn't loading. Here's what I've done so far: Updated on top of 4.2.4 (I normally always update on top of previous versions)... explorer can't rest... |

OK. Try the attached file. You need to exit the start menu (right-click on the start button, then Exit) Put the ClassicStartMenuDLL.dll file from the zip into the C:\Program Files\Classic Shell folder Run ClassicStartMenu.exe Let me know if this works for you. Indeed, we're fixed! :D Thanks for the... |

I updated to the new Classic Shell version 4.2.3 recently and now opening the apps menu causes explorer to close and automatically restart. After upgrading from Windows 10 build 10041 to build 10074, I can no longer open the "Apps" menu in the Start menu. I'm on Classic Shell 4.2.1 from earlier last month... it did its thing recognizing the new operating system, but I can't open the "Apps" menu any more. Did not have... |
