| That Windows is harder and harder to customize - in some cases: fix - is, in many ways and, to my mind, all-things-considered bad. It's part of the reason I am on Windows 8. Surely a button to open a new Explorer window would be good. Ideally, I'd like tabs; but a new window button would be a start. Thanks. |

| Gaurav, Thanks for the reply. However: (1) the problem occurs on a computer without a touchpad; (2) the problem can be prevented. I know 2 to be the case because just recently I have written a program that prevents it . It's an Autohotkey script. I've put it - a compiled executable file, to be run ... |

| When Windows is booting (on my Windows 8.1 system, anyway) Windows keeps stealing the keyboard focus (because it is nice like that).
