Loving it. Very nice and smooth animation. I Love how the whole thing sneaks to the left as the record slides out

Thanks for responding, IMHO, I think this will only complicate matters. The size setting and modifying the Start button bitmap are more than enough. I think I disagree that size setting and modifying the bitmap are enough. They might be in some cases, but if your button does experience a lot of clip...

Hello, I posted on a similar topic over on the Custom Start Button section, but decided to rewrite it into more of a feature request topic. A feature I would love to see implemented one day is the ability to change where and how start buttons are anchored or attached to the start bar, either through...

Thanks ZoNi, glad you like it :) As Jcee said, animation between hover and pressed state frames isn't currently supported. That said, I'd be more than happy to upload some other versions of this button with different pressed state frames. Any modified versions would probably just feature different c...

Hi guys, I repeatedly run into the situation where buttons are partially obscured by the edges of screen, and must be reduced in size in order to eliminate this clipping. Reducing button size is not always a desirable or ideal solution, and sometimes its very difficult to anticpate how a button will...

Nice work. I love the second one with the bubble subtley shrinking in the hover frame. BB was my favourite game back in the gameboy days.

Attached is another rotation themed cube button, simpler in design than my Rubik's cube button . This cube consists of 8 smaller cubes, with each face dividing into 4 squares, evoking the Windows 8 logo. Hovering over the button will cause the 8 smaller cubes to float apart slightly, and the entire ...

it might not be a bad idea to have the animation time be something you can set in classic shell settings. that way all one needs to do to create an animated button is line up 13 frames. This may make it easier for people making the buttons, but I think it would also shift a lot of work and configur...

Thanks Situla! I like #2 the best. The reason I requested a separate pressed state is that when you are using the keyboard to open the Start Menu (Win or Ctrl+Esc), it's the only indicator for the button. There's no hover state :) For touchscreens too, the same is true. Oh I see - if you just tap w...

The button now features a Pressed State frame . Wasn't quite sure what kind of Pressed State look to go for so I ended up making three versions. Choose from the attached files below and decide for yourself which, if any you like. The pressed state in the first file simply features an inverted colou...

yeah i just found that out the hard way, regarding the lack of animation between hot and pressed. i added a hot state frame to my button and it just creates more work (i.e. an extra frame). if you could animate between hot and pressed, it's no extra work/frames, because you could reuse the existing...

A suggestion: could you add some differentiation for the "pressed" state? Sure thing. I'll try and add one perhaps later on this evening if I have time. I didn't make a specific pressed state frame partly because CS doesn't support animation between hot and pressed states which looks slig...

Ok, I deleted the old one and re-uploaded it with corrected colours. The colours are now 99% accurate ;)

I guess my usual habit of simply eye-balling it won't cut it around here then

If anyone's interested I've further modified my button to include a colour transition effect. The button attached below will transition from white to the conventional yellow, red, blue and green colours of older windows logos in addition to spinning. Edit: At GauravK's request I've also added a pres...

Alrighty, I've remade the button from scratch to look as close to the windows 8 logo as possible. Here's what's changed. - I've flipped the logo around so it actually matches the windows 8 logo - I've corrected the proportions of the button so that its virtually identical to the Windows 8 logo - I'v...

Thanks for the feedback. The button is made of 2D snapshots of a perfect square being rotated in a 3D environment, namely SketchUp. I did things this way because its great for maintaining a consistent and realistic perspective, but now that I compare my button more closely with the more 'correct' wi...

Here are the same 3 images horizontally flipped.

Transformers sounds rather ambitious haha. I have some other ideas, but nothing quite as inordinately complex as a Transformer.

ANIMATED RUBIKS'S CUBE BUTTON Attached is my animated Rubik's cube start button. To create it I made an actual Rubik's Cube in SketchUp with rotatable sections. I then exported a 2D snapshot of the cube every time I rotated the top and bottom sections by 15 degree increments in clockwise and anti-c...
