The error says just this "Error loading XML file" along with the path to the file.
Should also mention that I don't use the windows startmenu, I use a personal startmenu from Classic shell, all custom items with separators and everything. |

I'm using version 4.1.0, it gives an error about loading menu settings every time i try to. The settings are not old either, I just saved them then tried loading them instantly. I haven't put any compatibility on the installation EXE as it installed the latest version by auto update. |

The context menu on start menu worked, but to make the custom start menu shortcut for Classic start menu to work I had to add its shortcut path in the command box of the shortcut, with a -settings parameter after it. |

Now I've done a whole custom start menu, but the Classic start menu settings won't open anymore. When I had fewer custom menus it would start after 10 seconds, but now not at all. |

Yes but as an addition to that, making an option for those like me who don't use the windows start menu. As in copying all the files from windows start menu to a separate start menu in classic start menu. Can think of it as bookmarks toolbar of Firefox, it's separate from the rest of the bookmarks, ... |

That's too bad, but what if classic start menu made its own folders separate from windows start menu altogether? Who needs windows start menu anyway. |

Is it possible to ever add a feature so we can add separators between menus in classic start menu? I don't mean the separator between the programs menu and other items that can be set in "customize start menu". I mean separators outside of the program menu for us that have the start menu f... |

The Internet explorer addon option fixed it. I use Firefox so I had all Internet explorer addons disabled long ago, never knew that had anything to do with windows explorer. Well thanks for the help! |

I have classic shell 4.04 installed, classic startmenu runs smoothly, but Classix explorer doesn't run at all. Changing its options doesn't change anything and I can't see its service.
It used to run several versions ago, but I haven't checked into why it doesn't run anymore until now. |

In Beta 3.91 and 3.93 a startmenu folder does not remember the position of its items and mixes them all up once a new item is moved to it. |

Well i tried the v 3.9 beta, but it jumbled my start menu icons even after importing the saved settings. It also for some reason brought up Camtasia installer after every reboot. So i didn't get to see if it fixed the delay, had to restore the system to get the classic shell startmenu settings back. |

Well that only lasted for a couple of days, the delay is back again but a little better now with the "Delay loading of icons" off. |

Okay, I did the opposite to what it said in the performance section now and turned off "Delay loading of icons" and restarted. So far so good, no delay. |

Thank you for the reply. I tried all of the suggestions of the performance section, including putting a simple skin, and what you mentioned about windows defender, none worked. I am on Windows 7, I meant this behavior started after Classic shell was updated to include Windows 8, but I never moved to... |

Classic start menu has almost always a delay of 5 to 15 seconds the first time I open it after a reboot. Example: I point at a folder called Tools in the classic start menu, it will show it after 15 seconds, but then again next time with no delay. Now I point at another folder and same thing happens... |
