After installing the FCU I got the message that CS had to change it's config. This worked fine. The only problem I had was that Network Connections hung my system. Other than that all seems OK.

Just discovered that I can use a Replacement Start button if I don't check 'Customize taskbar' option. Scrolling is fine under these conditions.

I've always thought that being able to change the size of icons on the taskbar would be a nice feature. Windows only allows normal and small mode.

Think I might have found the fix to my problem. It appears to be a Registry entry as described here Tweak Library – Make the background window active. I set the value to zero and so far so good. Fingers crossed.

If you use the button in CSM it appears only partially because it's so large but when you hover over it and select it you can see the image changes. I think the door is closed and opens when hovered and changes color when selected. Is it possible you don't need three images?

Found this really nice png icon but it apparently isn't setup for use on CS. It does have 3 different views although I don't understand why it only shows up as one view like below and in paint programs. Can anyone make it work properly with CS? Thanks.

I decided to go back to Windows 8 due to some weird things I experienced none having anything to do with CS. Normally I don't do upgrades, I do a fresh install. Unfortunately you can't do a fresh install with the ISO because it requires a valid 8.1 activation key. I'll wait for it to show up on Tech...

I should have done the obvious. I uninstalled CS then reinstalled it. Now it starts fine. Evidently doing an upgrade kept CS but failed to have it start automatically. I even tried the repair option first on the CS installer but that didn't help.

Figured out what is going on. I use small icons for my skins. I set my small icons in CSM to 24. If I set them to 16 which is the normal size for context menus the line spacing is OK.

I am saying that the 'Customize Start Menu' using a W7 style menu is different then the one used for the Classic style menu. Why can't there be just one with the best of both worlds?

Seems that the line spacing between entries is a little to high. Flyouts like on Control Panel take up 2 columns. Is this how the 'real' W7 menu displays lines?

Items with hidden attribute are always hidden in any system menu or Classic Shell's menu irrespective of folder options. It's a feature so items can be hidden in the menu. Using W7 style menu I have my User File as a menu. It is missing 'AppData' on the flyout. It is a hidden file but I overide that in Folder Options. Seems you aren't honoring that.

Now that my reported problems are fixed I can't find anything wrong with CSM functionality wise. It does what it is supposed to do. Requests for new features is always a possibility.

Will 4.0 final have any features that 3.9 doesn't?

The Metro Apps entry appears under All Programs at the end of the list. I have setup things so Metro Apps appears in the second column as a Menu. I would like to get rid of Metro Apps under All Programs but there doesn't seem to be a way to delete it.

Ivo. Is there a bug with 'Highlight newly installed programs'? Checking it I always have my Startup Folder highlighted in orange under All Programs. Un-checking it All Programs is in orange as well as Apps and Apps in the second column is highlighted as I previously mentioned.

Skipping the Metro screen didn't work. As a pseudo workaround I placed a shortcut to CSM in my startup folder. Now when I start my machine I get the Metro start screen. Clicking on my Desktop tile I get thrown into the desktop and CSM starts up. I'll keep Vbox on my system until we fix this. I just ...
