On my machine, with Windows 10 "creator edition", if I select the drop-down next to "Shut Down" on Classic Start Menu and select "Restart", the sub-menu disappears but my machine makes not effort to restart. OS Name: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro OS Version: 10.0.15063 N/A B... |

Yes, Windows Search is enabled (I reloy on it heavily for large Outlook .pst and Windows Explorer). The folder tree you listed stops at "LocalState" on my machine, and "LocalState" itself is empty. One of the items that does not work is "Settings", which will bring up &... |

It seems that "Shutdown" and "Restart" in Classic Start Menu 4.3.0 no longer work as expected with the Windows 10 "creators" update. On my Windows 10 Pro / "creators update" system, I need to use the "Power Button" on the "Ctrl+Alt+Del" scr... |

"About your PC" and other items / apps in Windows 10 are not being searched by the Classic Shell search. For now, this means I need to understand which items can be searched in Classic Shell and which ones require me to bring up the horrible Microsoft Start Menu. Or try Classic Shell and t... |

Last week I updated to Windows 10 Pro "creator edition" (which I think of as the "destoyer" edition for MS removing things like "Advanced Display Properties"). I placed the Windows Task Bar (and Classic Start Menu) on the right edge of the screen as I always do. Then I ... |

MS also ripped out "Advanced Display Options".
The "awesome" user experience you wrote about is 100 years old and called the "Model T" - any color as long as it's black. |

Thanks for the replies, both regarding my actual questions and the program's pedigree. The two programs have exactly the same name (http://classicstartmenu.com/), so I assumed that when I saw the program name a while after Dennis Nazarenko stopped development on his version to do Start Menu X, that ... |

Wow! I'm really glad somebody has picked up Dennis' Classic Start Menu (which I'm still using on several older computers [the paid version]). About the only thing I like about Windows 7 is being able to key into the search field, but on this version of Classic Start Menu it seems that anything I typ... |
