| I am concerned about at which point Classic Shell is going to *stop* working due to API changes in future MSWin10 releases. | Are you sure both Shift+Win and Shift+Click didn't work? I think one worked and the other didn't. If you just want to get to the Win10 menu occasionally, you can right-click on the start button and select Exit. This will disable Classic Shell temporarily.
