Ah, ok.
Not if the function keys don't work. Not if left click works. Too many coincidences.
Update: I was wrong. Just switched and it is the mouse. Never seen a button go bad like that before, and I've been at this a long time. |

Just did a clean Win 10 reinstall over the weekend, so everything is the latest, including Classic Shell, which is one of the highlighted (I checked in the program for an update)! Since posting, I discovered the context menu problem is general, and the keyboard function keys aren't working either. A... |

Win 10 1607, latest version of Classic Shell. All of a sudden today, two changes that I've so far noticed: 1) On black background, dual columns, a number of entries became highlighted (puke green); 2) Right click on the start button doesn't pop up the context menu, although the setting is there to d... |

Just tried to install Aero Glass and got the error in the lower screenshot. What should I make of it? Then there's the Aero Glass for Win8.1 etc. on the desktop right on top of the trash icon (moved the latter a little). What's with that? Thanks, Yes, I think you're right about the page sizing, alth... |

Thanks. The Beta does offer something more of a border, whether via transparent or glass view. I'll have to take a look at AeroGlassGUI. I downloaded and unzipped it, but will have to read how it works. I wish these settings could carry over to title bars and such. As for the forum appearance, from ... |

Just went from Win 8.1 to Win 10 last night and got an unpleasant surprise with the latter's limited display color settings, compared to earlier versions of Windows where one can adjust intensity, saturation, hue and brightness. So I've been playing with Classic Shell's settings for the taskbar. But... |

Ok, didn't know about that hover setting. That's been the problem here, not the other stuff. Thanks, GauravK. |

In terms of the left corner, I don't see any difference in the three possibilities. If I move the mouse over the Start (Aero) button without clicking, the Metro screen comes up no matter which I choose. The only difference I see is what happens in the right corner. |

Win 8.1 Pro x64 (clean reinstall in Dec), Classic Shell 4.1.0. As I recall, Classic's Start button used to require the mouse cursor to drift pretty much into the lower left desktop corner to bring up Windows tiled desktop. However, I've noticed in the last two or three months that it's become extrem... |

Just did a Windows 8.1 reinstall, followed by the start menu, classic style. After installing some programs, there are a few in the list and sublists that have the same yellowish orange highlight as the forum rules background above. Didn't have that before, and copying back my previous settings hasn... |

Looking at the right column to compensate, I'm finding that Gene1 won't delete from the context menu; My Documents is supposedly open and can't be deleted (rebooted to be sure); <No Text> doesn't show a context menu; Computer doesn't delete; and Recent Items doesn't show show a delete option. Everyt... |

It looks like adding anything fills the space. Take a look at the screenshot with Apps added back in. |

Not sure about the big blank space. A screenshot would help.
The blank space came back. See screenshot. |

Thanks, that helped (with a reinstall of the beta), though the color There are still two problems, one of which may be a bug: 1) "Apps" is now the first item. I don't use it or want it. Can it be removed? I would like Programs first (and only). 2) In the list above that, the one where item... |

I just installed the latest beta over 3.6.8 and the result was a different look to the menu, even though the settings appear to be the same. A system restore didn't fix it (Win 8x64). It's been many months since initial set up, but apparently I had reordered and deleted and most of the items from th... |
