Could you add some options in windows 8/8.1/8.1U1 for changing the way explorer looks, and fix the ones that would still work? For instance, would it be possible to change the location of the details pane to the bottom (saves a lot of space)? None of the options besides the toolbar work, (many of th... |

In the windows XP start menu, the right side has icons, but they are medium sized. This makes it so that they have icons, yet they still don't look...clunky. This is a feature request asking you to add the ability in classic start to make the right side have medium-sized. This would not affect the s... |

And the images you requested... One of what is SUPPOSED to happen, and does unless you backspace a search to return to the normal start. |

Actually... That's the visual appearance; what I thought happened at first. What's ACTUALLY HAPPENING is: it removes the left part normal view when it put the all programs on. After you open then backspace a search, this somehow prevents the left part normal view from being removed. Just follow the ... |

This is with windows 7-style start Steps to reproduce: 1. type something in search. 2. backspace it. 3. open all programs.
If you follow the steps above, the all programs will not fill the entire box, and it looks rather odd. Can you please fix this? Thanks! |

Ok. I change my theme. The screen greys out, ordinary stuff. Then, the start orb shows ABOVE the theme changing grey-out. When I select it, the entire taskbar comes above, and I can open the start menu (above). I can then, from there, open other programs, but the other programs will stay below the t... |

Can you make windows 8 and 8.1 have an option to have the classic/non-metro open with dialog in classic explorer? If you want to totally ignore metro, that doesn't really help, and it feels kind of out of place if you use a custom theme. This kind of thing should be possible, since you replaced the ... |

The replace/copy have options to do this, and it seems it would be very useful to do this. So, could you add an option to replace the address bar history in not just explorer (also in save as, open, etc)? It seems this wouldn't conflict with possible changes to the dialog, and it would be really use... |

Hmm. Try Explorer shell:::{2559a1f5-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0}. That will work. But it can't show what you're asking for - name of the program dynamically switched when the default changes. Thus is the reason I made a Feature Request. Oh and you forgot, You need to put a dash before shell because... |

Well it's easy to create shortcuts for these: For Default web browser, create a new shortcut to your home page with the http:// prefix. For Default email client, create a shortcut to shell:::{2559a1f5-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0} there is no 'shell:::{2559a1f5-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0}' accordin... |

Vista and XP had dynamic pinned "Internet" and "Email" items that would open the default of that program, and showed the icon of the program. Their names were bold, and they showed the name of the program they opened in lighter (In XP it's grey) text below their name. (Search 'wi... |

The search sub-groups don't collapse (and therefore can't expand). Even by right clicking them and selecting 'collapse' (or 'expand') they don't collapse (and therefore can't expand, for they are already expanded). It should also be noted that the header starts in the collapsed state (says 'expand' ... |

I have an idea of how it could work. Items that are set to display as a menu could have a button labeled 'edit menu', that would bring up a UI for editing the menu of the item. There would then be separators and some pre-made items to place in the menu, or you could create custom menu items. That wa... |

This is a simple request to add ctrl + up in classic explorer. This was removed in vista as a result of the up arrow being removed, and with classic explorer adding that back, I feel this should be added back too. It was a hotkey to open the current folder's parent in a new window. |

I would like an exact replica/unmodified version of the windows 7 start orb please? The one posted does not have the border, and does not have the outer glow.
