I have an issue with the "Apps" folder in Classic Start Menu.
This "Apps" folder is completely empty.
Thats one issue - someone may have had the same problem and this is already solved.

Now my question: how do I search this forum for "Apps" and "Folder" or "Menu"? - These search terms are ignored by the forum search function.

Thanks for any ideas and comments - and also for solutions of my empty "Apps" folder problem.

Make sure you are running the latest version of Classic Shell. Get the latest version from http://www.classicshell.net/downloads/latest Also which Windows version are you running?

The forum search sucks because it has too many restrictions.

You can search the forum using Google or Bing as follows:

<enter search terms> site:classicshell.net/forum

e.g.1, if you don't know how to change Start button,

In Google or Bing's search box, type: change start button site:classicshell.net/forum

e.g. 2 if you want to know how to add some folder, let's say, 'Videos' to the Start menu, search like this:

In Google or Bing's search box, type: add videos start menu site:classicshell.net/forum

Thank you Gaurav, this really works much better than the forum search.

However, I didn´t find an answer to my empty "Apps" folder problem. This is probably not an issue of Classic Start Menu.

Apps folder can be broken in the Start Menu if you are running an incompatible version. That's why I told you to update to the latest version and asked your Windows version. Can any of the Apps be launched via the Windows Start screen/Start Menu?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I of course use the latest version of Start menu 4.2.5

Yes - I can start e.g. Microsoft EDGE from the Windows Start Screen, EDGE does not show up in Start Menu "Apps" folder.
Well - this problem should not bother the developers of Classic Shell too much. The computer, where the problem showed up, was infected by malware before. I could remove the malware and I will try to reinstall the Windows 10 Apps. Let´s see, what happens. By the way, I´m using Windows 10 x64 vers. 1511 Build 10586.63

So only one app is not showing? What about the other apps like Store, Settings, Windows Feedback etc? The latter two cannot be uninstalled so they must be showing?

No (zero) app is shown in Start Menu´s Apps folder, it´s completely empty.

In Windows All Apps menu all 35 integrated apps (including Store, Settings, Feedback...) are present. Some work (EDGE e.g.), others don´t (Mail, Contacts) due to previous malware.

I don´t know, which folder or registry entry is mirrored into Start Menu´s Apps folder, so I can´t do further investigations.

Press Win+R keys together to open the Run dialog and type here:

shell:AppsFolder

and press Enter. Does a folder open in Explorer with your Metro apps listed? Anyway, it looks like the malware damaged something on your PC so the apps folder broke.

Thanks for your fast answer.

Unfortunately I cannot test that with the affected computer in the moment. This computer belongs to a friend and he left for ski holidays just now.

I will have a look at the mentioned folder at my computer, but at my computer Classic Start Menu really works fine without any problems (also Win10 x64).
