Experiment # 5 Out There. Major changes made from Smoked Glass skin. Misty here, clear out there. Yep. One of those iconic beach views. Fake of course, almost like a cartoon. The horizon will wander up and down somewhat. Not sure if anything can be done about that? I still find it amazing that all these menus, make most of themselves, using very efficient way of stretching! Tried with CSM 4.0.2 on Win7/8. Autocolor background glass select, only works on Win8. If required, change static color, in "personalize" feature, of Win7 . Not compatible with most older versions of CSM. Will only partially work. After downloading file, paste in skins folder. Exit CSM, restart CSM, and go to "Start Menu Style" tab. Pick Classic or Classic two columns. Pick "Out There" in Skin tab. ps. Feel free to change anything in this skin, especially my errors, as it's just an experiment. I'm no artist or coder, just playing around with stuff. Sometimes errors can lead to new ideas. In this case, the vertical noise problem in the making of a previous skin, gave me the idea for using it here. So, there is a lot of streaking of carefully selected one pixel wide noise, mostly for the fake waves. Nothing is permanent, everything changes. You could make it better. French doors, light to dark sand, sunset, moon glow, etc. Just noticed 4.0.4 is out, Hopefully still works.

bonjour, très beau, mais un brin trop "figuratif" à mon goût. peut on remplacer ce fond par quelque chose de plus abstrait, tout en conservant l'idée des stries ? (je ne suis pas capable d'en faire autant, .... j'essaie pourtant !!) en toute état de cause, bravo et merci traduction hello, very beautiful, but a bit too "figurative" for my taste. we can replace the background with something more abstract, while retaining the idea streaks? (I am not able to do so .... but I'm trying!) in any event, congratulations and thank you |

Hello Pipalou50 Yes. Working with noise streaks can be difficult. If it's too much, is just looks like a video display error. Seems it has to be subtle. I had tried with randomized noise in photo program. Here is picture of one of my failed skins with the vertical streaks. I had one called Purple Rain, which was slightly better. Can't find. I must have deleted it. Good luck with yours. Might not be coming to forum much anymore, as have to help in house renovations.

Pipalou50 I just thought of way to make in an abtract way. Put a picture of anything in image editor. Select a one pixel wide strip of say 400 pixels high, in that picture. Blur it, and paste on top of menu bitmap. May have to try many times before becomes usable. Many many times. |

Hello, Merci beaucoup de tous vos précieux conseils que je vais essayer de mettre à profit pendant votre absence ! j'ai déjà fait quelque "trucs", mais ce n'est guère convaincant. mais je continue, l'aventure me plait ... à bientôt
