After installing the Start Menu, I was unable to open any hyperlinks directly from my Outlook email. I got the error message “This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator.” In looking for a solution to this problem, I went to this site:
http://www.slipstick.com/problems/this- ... strictions. They suggested:
- Start, click Run, type Regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
- Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\.html
- Right click the value for the .html key and select Modify…
- Change the value from “ChromeHTML” to “htmlfile” (or from FireFoxHTML to htmlfile)
- Repeat for .htm, shtml, .xht, .xhtml, .xhtm keys
I did so, and noticed that the values for all the keys were set to TorchHTML. I followed the instructions and it fixed the problem. I am sharing this in case anyone else has the same dilemma.
