I have successfully used Classic Shell for 3+ years and today upon start up, the Windows 10 desktop appeared. I can see my favorites briefly on the Windows 7 screen however the Windows 10 screen dominates. I uninstalled Classic Shell and reinstalled the most recent version (4.3.1). Any suggested fix?

Maybe Tablet Mode got turned on in your Windows 10. Press Win+A keys together to show the Action Center. Turn off "Tablet Mode" from there.
Also, to make sure only Classic Shell's menu is set to open, right click the Start button -> Settings. Check "Show all settings" at the top.
Go to the Controls tab and set "Left click opens" and "Windows Key opens" to Classic Start Menu.

Thanks for the tip related to tablet mode as this resolved the issue.
