I have been using Classic Shell on my Windows 8 64bit machine for several months without issue. It has worked pretty well until a recent update to Windows Shell. Before the update YouTube videos would play without issues. Now when I try to play a video I get a dialog box that says -
You are using an outdated browser, which YouTube no longer supports. Since some features on YouTube may not work, you are viewing a lightweight version of the video page. Go back to the regular page, etc. jhjhj
I am using IE10 - the latest Flash version, etc. I don't know if the problem is caused by Classic Shell - in fact I uninstalled it and the problem persists. I have tried changing the compatibility views - no effect.
Here's something interesting I found out - this situation occurs in the Windows 8 desktop mode of IE10 - if I open IE10 as a metro app it does not happen.
Go back to the regular page I think answer has something to do with the desktop versus the metro app version of IE10.
Any thoughts?
