As a newbie I'm sure this question has been posted many times, however:

I've lost my old style start button and have tried several times recently to reinstall classic shell but each time I get a black box notice:
"Start Menu 8
Your trial has expired and no free left today"
And then goes on to ask me to activate Start Menu 8 Pro at $12.97.
Putting aside the bad English does this message mean the end of the classic shell for me? I've tried a few different classic shell versions, all to the same effect so far.
I'm using W8.1 (x64) (build 9600)
Any help appreciated
Bob

Looks like you are using a different software, called "Start Menu 8". Uninstall it, reboot, then download and install the genuine Classic Shell software from here: www.classicshell.net.
