I am sorry if this has been asked before.

My Windows 10 has developed a common Critical Error which does not allow me to left click the Start button. Some other taskbar features do not work well either.

Some other forums have suggested downloading Classic Shell. This would work but I do not want the Explorer Toolbar. I do not use Explorer. Is is possible to do this?

Would I still be able to access the file part of Explorer or whatever they call it now?

Yes. During installation you can choose which components to install.

Thanks so much.

Will my task bar still be visible or will classic shell provide an equivalent?

Classic Shell does not replace the taskbar.

OK. I like the taskbar but mine is not working. For example I cannot get anything when I click on the wi-fi button so I cannot change which wi-fi to connect to manually.

Do you suspect the problem is caused by Classic Shell?

Oh, I see. You have not installed it yet.
I'm afraid Classic Shell will not fix your errors. It will give you a functioning start menu, however your other problems will not be affected.

OK. I think I may just have to go back to Windows 7.
