Forgive me if this has already been requested. I tried searching for this topic, but when I tried, it told me that my phrase was too common.

I have been using windows since 95. I used the option under task-bar options "Disable always on top" exclusive instead of "auto-hide". I would love to have this option added to a future version of classic shell. There was a program available for windows 7, but it stopped working after a service pack update.

Thanks.

Try this: http://www.csparks.com/Win7TaskbarMasher/ Although it only makes other windows appear on top of the taskbar when they are moved/dragged. Maximized windows still appear without covering the taskbar.
