Please make menu color 1:1 as a system.
Now it's a two different colors.
Opacity makes more realistic, but still not same.
Start8 and other shows menu in same color as a system.
Don't promt to set color by hands - it will work in auto mode (slideshow etc will change wallpapers and color changes with it).

Not possible. Start8 and others have different versions for Windows 8 and 8.1, and they don't even support Windows 7. Classic Shell needs to work in all 3. When you factor in the setting for opaque vs transparent taskbar, and also the support for Aero Glass, it is just not possible to have a single skin work in all cases.

Besides, particularly for Windows 8.1 if you match the transparency of the taskbar the text becomes unreadable. The taskbar doesn't care about text much because by default it only shows icons. It is also usually at the bottom and doesn't have programs behind it. The start menu has text that is important and it often shows up on top of other programs. Readability is seriously compromised if it is as transparent as the taskbar.

So. It's hard to "if winver<9200 then detectWin8Color() else SetWin7Color() end;" ?
In product page written Support Windows 8.1, but cannot detect correct color.
Sad.

Yes, it is. Skins don't have such conditional logic. Besides, there is a lot more to a skin than a single color.

@7OH, please try the Winaero Skin 2.0 for Classic Shell: http://winaero.com/blog/get-the-best-lo ... -skin-2-0/ With and without transparency. The installer will configure the values to match the taskbar at opaque and transparent settings.

The Winaero skin is more transparent than the default Windows 8 skin shipping in Classic Shell. But it is less transparent than what StartIsBack or Start8 have to preserve readability.

The Taskbar is overly transparent in Windows 8.1 causing readability problems at some lighter color shades. If we make a 1:1 match, this is how it looks:
