Hi Classic Shell Forums, I am looking for a solution to the following. Some of my files and folders are hidden (and I would like to keep them hidden). I can view these in Explorer windows/Navigation Panes because I have elected to Show Hidden Files and Folders through Windows. However, I cannot see these files in my cascading Classic Shell Start Menu, nor in any other types of cascading menus, including stock Windows taskbar toolbars (e.g. right click taskbar > Toolbars > Desktop). How can I view hidden files and folders in fly-out menus in addition to Explorer windows? Thank you for your kind support! - Polite Master OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit |

That's standard Windows menu behavior (and Classic Shell follows this). If hidden files were shown, people that depend on this feature to hide files inside the menu won't be happy. Also, desktop.ini and thumbs.db will also show inside the menu. |

Yea, and your Windows "enthusiasm" (fanboyness) shows in your inability to think outside your narrow-minded box and realize that not everyone (thankfully) thinks like you and would like the OPTION to enable/disable things like showing hidden files. |

Meh I'm personally with you that a feature should be included (even if its disabled by default) that way the user can decide..It would be pretty cool if hidden files would only display when a certain hotkey was held down. That said, this is a pretty old thread, try to be constructive if you bump something this old |
