Maybe this is a dumb question, but how exactly do I get these giant files like this to work with the start button? Do I need to crop the picture myself? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm just new to this but I'd love to have an Umbreon as my start button. Thanks in advance!

For DeviantArt links, visit the website and click the Download button with the green arrow. A compressed ZIP file usually contains the Start button images.

Extract the images to some directory like My Documents\Start button. Then follow these instructions:
