Ever since I upgraded Windows 8 to Windows 8.1, unlocking my PC goes straight to the Metro screen instead of the Desktop.
I have "Skip Metro Screen" ticked on in Classic Start Menu 4.1.0.

Any ideas?

Try toggling the setting. Uncheck it, close the settings, then check it again, close the settings.
Let me know if this worked.

Another way to change the same setting is right click on the Taskbar -> Properties -> Navigation tab. Check the option "When I sign in or close all apps on a screen, go to the desktop instead of Start".

Hmm. Apologies, I think this might be due to remote desktop.
Sometimes I remote desktop to a Win 8.1 PC from another Win 8.1 PC. When the rdp session is maximized and when unlocking the client PC, the RDP session goes straight to Metro. I've got Classic Shell running on both PCs.

Probably has nothing to do with Classic Shell (which is great btw). I suspect just an RDP issue.

The settings only control what happens after you log in. If your PC is locked and then unlocked (like when resuming a RDP session), different rules apply. Although I would expect the PC would restore to the same screen it was before.
