How do stop classic shell from automatically adding items to the top portion of the start menu. I know in Win 7 you right clicked taskbar and selected properties and disabled it there. With classic shell it only allows you to stop adding items to the jump list (bottom portion). I looked in advanced settings and didnt find a way to disable it, maybe I overlooked it.

It is called "Show recent programs" near the bottom of the Special Items tab. It is also in the Basic Settings tab.

Pin to Start pins them to the Start screen. You will need to drag and drop them to the area or paste shortcuts in %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu. If you want to add Pin to Classic Start Menu item to the context menu, follow the tutorial here: http://www.classicshell.net/forum/viewt ... p?f=5&t=61
