I downloaded classic shell because I have heard it fixes the bug (or feature?) in explorer that makes it autoscroll when you click on a file in list view. However, I cant seem to find such an option. Can classic explorer help me here?

If you dont understand what I am saying,
I mean when you are viewing a folder in list view, and you try to click on a file that is in the right hand column, if that column contains any filenames that dont completely fit onscreen, then the window will scroll to move that column over to the left. It is very disorienting and annoying, because you have to keep trying to chase your files all over the window!

No, it fixes a different issue. When you expand folders in the navigation pane (the tree on the left), sometimes it will scroll to the bottom instead of to the top.

I don't think a solution exists for the problem you are describing.

Is there any hope of fixing this in the near future? I have searched far and wide, but still can't find a solution to this very annoying problem!
If there's anyway to fix it in any version of Classic Shell, please let me know.

It is hard to fix because the control that Explorer uses in the file pane (right side) is completely undocumented and for private use by Microsoft.
