I have had trouble with the sound on my laptop for quite a while as well as games. A message I saw once said it was because I was using the Classic Shell which I love. I am using Windows 10. A game I play once in a while will come up maybe one day on a weekend. Once I shut down it is gone until the next time it appears. The sound icon cannot be left clicked for a quick mute as it could before. Thank you so much. opdesigns

You can be absolutely 100% sure that Classic Shell does not affect your audio in any way.
