Thank you for this very nice Windows 8 Menu.
It's a shame that Microsoft kicked it out.

Compared to Windows 7, i miss the music and video shortcuts in the startmenu.
Not essential, but it would be nice if there was an option to include "Network" into it eather.

Thank you

You can include all of those. Create CustomItems. Edit them and click on the Link dropdown. There should be choices for My Music, My Videos and Network.

Jans, that would be on the Customize Start Menu tab in case you are lost due to too many settings. Go to that tab, scroll all the way down to add a Custom Command, double click it as jep said to add locations from Link dropdown. Reposition it wherever you want. If you don't want to expand them as a menu but want to show them as a non-expandable link, check the 'Don't expand' checkbox.

Thank you for this tip. Is there a way to somehow add our custom button ('My Videos' in my case) to the Special Items tab so that I can set the button to 'Display as a link'? I do not see the option to 'Display as a link' when I edit the custom button.

For now, the contents of my video folder slide out as a submenu when I hover over 'My Videos' in the start menu (not my preference).

Thank you for your time! :)

Use the "Don't expand" setting.

Awesome ... thank you!

Would have been easier if it said "Display as link" instead of "Don't expand" imho.

Much appreciated, though! :)

The custom items can do more than just display a folder. "Display as a link" would be inaccurate.

I can't get the My Music shortcut to work. It appears on the menu, but clicking it does nothing. Settings:

You must keep the Command field empty. There is no such command as user_music. Only the Link is enough.
