I am a new Windows 10 user, previously had a very satisfactory Classic Shell experience with 7.
In Windows 10 when I click on a folder in the file explorer navigation pane tree, it automatically expands the folder in the tree. It also automatically collapses the previous folder I had selected, which drives me nuts.
I have tried every conceivable setting in file explorer and Classic Shell but nothing makes a difference.

In Classic Explorer Settings, set Navigation Pane style to "Windows Vista" and close and reopen the Explorer window.

I am a Windows enthusiast and did Classic Shell's testing and usability/UX feedback.

That works, thankyou. I prefer the XP look with the [+] and the dotted lines, though. Doesn't seem to be available in the Win 10 version (yet?).
