In a standard Win7 Start Menu it's possible to show "Downloads" like "My Pictures", "My Music" or "My Documents" with the Options "Display as a link", "Display as a menu" or "Don't display this item".

In Classic Shell i can't find this option for the Downloads-Folder.

Thanks

For the Windows 7 style of the Classic Start Menu, Downloads is there already on the Customize Start Menu tab in settings.

If you are using the Classic style of the menu, also go to the Customize Start Menu tab and scroll all the way down in the right column. Drag and drop the "Custom" item to the left column and position it via dragging to where you want it. Now double click the Custom item to show the Edit Menu Item dialog. In the Link: field, type:
shell:Downloads
Click OK to save settings.

When adding a custom item for the classic style you can also select the Downloads item from the Link dropdown.

OK, thank you very much!

Unfortunately in the german translation the "Custom"-Item is called "Aktuell verwendet" (meaning "currently in use"), so i didn't find the corresponding item immediately.

Perhaps the german translator should change the "Custom"-term to such as "Benutzerdefiniert" instead of "Aktuell verwendet". It's little confusing.

Oh that seems to be a translation mistake. Thanks for letting us know.

Better german translation: Not "Aktuell verwendet", but "Aktuell angewendet".
