I just bought a Lenovo laptop running Win 8. I downloaded Classic shell IE. As of now when I log on to the laptop I'm faced with the "charms". I like the classic sceen,. Did I make a mistake when I downloaded it? Ijust don't like those charms. I also deleted Windows 10 after I tried it. Can you help me? pluto :?:

from what you describe; 2 things
Firstly did you install the start menu component or just the IE component (IE is classic shell there after you go into the desktop?)
If-so; then all you need to do is:

I think I'll reinstall it because when I click on the shell, after following the instructions you sent me, I go to the charms. Can you give me directions
so I don't mess it up again...Thank you or the help. pluto

No that sounds like it was installed fine because the start button is there
It seems that somehow youve set a few of the options wrong Right click on the button (or shift+right click depending on your settings)
and select settings
then at the top corner check 'show all settings' and select the controls tab. Everything you need should be there
