Hello! I am facing huge problems after uninstalling ClassicShell 4.3. from our Remote Desktop Server running Windows Server 2016 Standard. I love this tool and I have been using it on all our desktops and servers for many years. However it started causing issues on the new RDS with use sessions periodically locking when they can’t click on anything.

After uninstalling Classic Shell and rebooting the server, I can’t get the native windows menu to work properly. Admin users lost all their icons, can't click on Power Button, users with normal privileges cannot even click on Start button – it does not open at all. If I put Classic Shell back – everything works. If I uninstall – the problem comes back again.

Is there a way to restore everything it was prior to installing ClassicShell? I would appreciate any help!

Classic Shell does nothing to affect the native Windows start menu. I suspect your menu has been broken for some time, but nobody noticed because they were using the Classic Shell menu.
