I went from Windows XP to Windows 7, and never used Vista in between. Within hours of installing Windows 7 on a new build, I installed Classic Shell. So I'm somewhat unfamiliar with the behavior of the standard Windows Explorer in Windows 7, but it was the jumping folders that prompted me to begin using Classic Explorer.
One thing that drives me crazy now is the behavior within the navigation pane when a folder is selected. If that folder name is truncated by the right-hand edge of the pane, it causes the pane to scroll to the right. In XP, the pane never shifts/scrolls by itself when a folder is selected. Can this behavior be duplicated in Classic Explorer on Windows 7?
(I did a search in the forum for similar issues and saw a discussion mentioning disabling full row select. I tried that, but it had no effect on this behavior within the navigation pane.)
