New installs of the most recent Classic Shell & IE on two Windows 10 PCs. I was sure, when I finished (yesterday), that the better/smarter Copy dialog (that lets you press A to copy all, rather than endure Microsoft's annoying multiple steps) was installed and enabled, but for some reason it's now gone from both machines. I recall seeing the option for this somewhere (and enabling it), but can't find it now. The Settings button (shell icon) appaers on all folder windows but that switch isn't in there. What did I miss?

Thanks in advance for any clues.

Mark

This Classic Explorer feature only works on Windows 7. It is incompatible with 8, 8.1 and 10.

On Windows 8/8.1 and above, you can use PerigeeCopy which is a copy engine replacement with better usability than Windows: http://jstanley.pingerthinger.com/pscopy It allows similar keyboard shortcuts - A, Y, N etc

Finally got around to trying this and it's excellent. Thank you for the link. So grateful not to be stuck with Microsoft's productivity-draining versiono. I'll never figure out what drives them so relentlessly to change existing features to work less efficiently.
