The animations wont be possible with classic shell, however if you can get a high resolution screenshot of of the menu (maybe with a free trial or something) without any menu items, I could rip the texture to throw on a classic shell skin.

I'm not big on dragons, so I probably wont spend hours to build it from scratch, but with a decent texture it should only take 30 minutes or so

Also the closest thing to this currently available for classic shell would probably be this:

No problem, and I'm not saying it couldn't be done without animation, just saying without a good source image, it would need to be built from scratch, not something IM willing to do

Here is the animated dragon file in .tga format. Zipped.
Maybe someone could turn it into an animated start button dragon.

Hi Jcee.
At one time, I wanted to make one of those dragon, or molten menus too.
Always went to the back burner, as something else would come up.
Might as well let someone else use these bitmaps that I gathered up.
I stitched the main menu back together.
They would still need to be assembled into a skin,
along with modification to the buttons. :)

If you want a copy of the whole Windowblinds "molten" zip file,
let me know, it's on my XP drive somewhere.

Nope, that should be everything necessary, also do you want the dragon, and fire? (I was thinking dragon, but no fire since without animation it wont look so good)

Hi Jcee.
As for me, I can still venture back into the XP past,
because I can swap out the still working drive,
so it's not as important to me, as for ocasioi777, possibly Weboh.

About the flames or dragon, or both, or none.
I put a single shot of flames, and of dragon, in the zip.
Part of dragon's tail might get elongated, depending on slices.
Up to ocasioi777.

extra note.
I notice that the Vista screenshot looks better than XP original.
Cause on XP, the power buttons are simple orange rectangles,
and the right column never had animation flames.
The main menu and sub had a lot of tileing going on,
which as far as I know, can't be done in CSM.

Yea tiling cant be done, i was planning on ripping a large rectangle off the main menu for subs

ocasioi777 Are there any specific request you would like for this menu before i begin building it? (an alternate color scheme, ect) Also what settings do you plan on using because im probably not going to make multiple variations, or add many options.
Unless otherwise specified, im going with:
Classic with 2 columns
no user picture
same color scheme
whatever defaults the base skin has...

I think classic with 2 columns is the right step but I think a user picture should be there as far as color its fine to keep it as the original, that should be good.

Here's your skin, took about an hour and a half to make :P

Note: only the first option actually works (just to lazy to remove the others ;P), also classic with 2 columns is required

Thanks to Jcee, for skinning the menu for us.
Just tried it out an hour ago.:)

My apologies to Jcee, as well.
I did not realize I zipped the picture of the dragon without the transparency.

I have put it in another zip. I checked it twice this time.
I also put the same main menu bitmap with the transparency a lot less.

In this way if the client changes mind, and wishes to have the dragon, instead of the user picture,
they can follow the instructions in the zip, using Resource Hacker.
It makes the dragon the new picture frame,
with the tiny user picture hiding behind the dragon (not visible).
That way, there is no distortion in the dragon image, unless the menu width is intentionally shrunk.

Hello dragon. I missed you. :lol:

I actually thought about doing this :P Having the dragon on the left side actually, with the user-pic on the right and name below drag. But I wasn't going to go through that work unless it was warranted/requested :P Also I probably could have done a better job with the sub-menu background as it gets stretched somewhat ridiculously :P

Yup, with the same technique, it can be done, by moving the user picture so it's visible again,
and adjusting the name data.
It's just that the user picture is referenced to the top left corner of the dragon frame,
so it floats all over the place.
When the column width is narrow, first the user picture gets cut off, and in the extreme,
puppy dragons head get lopped off as well. Not that I'm into decapitation, it looked funny at the time.

If anyone has time to play with it,
they can put this text in the bottom of text script instead:

[USER_IMAGE]
User_image_size=40
User_bitmap=30
User_frame_position=left,15
User_image_offset=305,95
Main_opacity=fullalpha
Main_opacity2=fullalpha

[USER_NAME]
User_font="Segoe UI",bold,22
User_text_color=#FFFFFF
User_glow_color=#000000
User_glow_size=3
User_name_position=25,50,-25,222
;User_name_align=right1
User_name_align=center1

They still have to replace at least the bitmap 30 and possibly menu bitmap 31.
Main menu width adjustment in CSM settings, plays a role in line up of name, and picture,
as well as second column icons on or off.

Yea, my version didn't have the dragon, also do you want a user picture? because your currently using one. Otherwise Ill just add the dragon. And I acknowledged the sub menu earlier :P Might fix that a bit too

Heres the updated version:
Fixed username/pic (with the help of junipers code)
Added dragon (requires user image option)
Changed the submenu texture
