I'm a long time user of Classic Start Menu and love it. I was wondering if there is a way to get "PC Settings" and "Store" app to launch correctly from the Classic Start Menu? Currently they launch the HTML page and are not usable. With Windows 8.1 having a lot more features in "PC Settings" and since there are some Windows Store apps that I would like to use it would be great to at least be able to get to those from the start menu.

It would be awesome in addition, but not required at all, to be able to see other modern\metro\whatever they are called apps in the start menu and have them treated like normal apps.

Any chance for at least being able to launch PC Settings and the Store?

thanks!

Which version of Classic Shell are you using? Ever since version 3.6.2, support was added to Classic Start Menu to launch Modern apps. Opening the PC Settings shortcut or Store shortcut should launch the proper Metro versions, not open them in IE. Also, there is a dedicated "Apps" submenu to launch any Store app.

If you are on Windows 8.1 preview, there may be some issues as it's not comprehensively tested for every feature yet. But on Windows 8, "PC Settings", "Store" and Modern apps can all be opened from the Start Menu.

With the upcoming version 4.0, Store and PC Settings are listed in the "Apps" folder itself.

Thanks. I was using 3.5.1. For the "Apps" submenu are the items in that sub menu something that can be moved around to different folders/submenu in start (e.g. moving "PC Settings" to a "computer" folder, or "Cut the rope" to a "games" start folder)?

thanks. I'll probably try out the 3.6.2 and answer some of these questions myself ;)

You can copy/create a shortcut to the Modern App shortcuts inside All Programs by drag and drop e.g. Games folder inside "Programs". Dragging them to right column items like "Computer" or "Games" is not possible.
