I did a quick test on Windows 8 (on a testsystem that happened to have UAC turned off). I uninstalled the previous version, rebooted, then installed the beta. After another reboot I got this message: "UAC has to be turned on to run the Desktop app". (Took about 5 "OK" clicks to get to the UAC screen).
Is this new in version 4? I don't remember ever seeing this before (even though I don't usually do this kind of manual install, only silent (/qn) installs. Is it possible to use the new version with UAC off? (Might be useful sometimes), or is there a switch I missed? (If so, sorry for bothering you).
Thanks.
