I am a user of Classic shell and I use it on all my versions of Windows including Windows Vista. On Windows 8 you of course don't get a start menu,so using CS solves this problem. I noticed that you have now dropped the Windows XP Luna start menu from version 4 and I would very much like to see it re-instated. Because I much prefer the Windows XP start menu to the default Windows 7 style that is on Windows 7. Also as version 4 no longer supports Windows Vista I am using 3.6.8 which is the latest version that will work. As version 4 won't install on my Windows Vista. I have not tried Windows 8.1 though I have got Windows 8 and classic shell works on windows 8 Pro. Though will you be reinstating the Windows XP start menu in future versions of CS?

Classic Shell 4 has not removed the Windows XP skin but moved it elsewhere. To get back the Windows XP skin, first go to the Style tab in Start Menu Settings and choose the "Classic with two columns" style, then go to the Skin tab and select 'Windows XP Luna' from the Skin tab. Note that the XP Luna skin is not available for the new Windows 7 style of the menu. You must click "Classic with two columns" style to use it.

Oh I didn't know that. that was one of the reasons I wouldn't upgrade to version 4. I think I tried the Beta 4 version and I never saw it there. At the moment I have got 3.6.8 version and the updater says I am using the latest version.

I have downloaded Classic Shell version 4.0.2 and I have found the Windows XP start menu. So problem solved. Thanks.
