The policy settings are the same as what you have in the Settings GUI. Only for customizing "Menu Items", there is a single policy setting. You must customize them once using the Settings GUI and then use the Registry Editor to configure the Group Policy. It's explained in that link.

Hi
thansk for the reply.
Im a stuck ath this part:
. Double click it, set it to Enabled and "Locked to this value" and paste the registry value's data that you copied into the corresponding policy setting's field below the "State" option. Click OK to save the policy setting.

I am unable to copy the binary value.. eg "57 00 69 OO etc" into the "Menu items for the Windows 7 style". if i try to copy and paste it does not to it.

What am i missing? do i only copy the 57 00 69 OO part or the w.i.n.7... also?

Sorry if im not makig gsense here. pulling my hair out!

What registry value are you looking at? None of the settings should be stored as binary.

Open Windows Registry Editor (Regedit.exe) and look up the value named MenuItems7 in HKCU\Software\IvoSoft\ClassicStartMenu\Settings.
3. Double click the MenuItems7 value and copy the value data of the 'MenuItems7' value.

Though the Name is "MenuStyle"

Edit Binary Value

Value name
MenuStyle

Value Data:
0000 57 00 69 00 6E 00 37 00 w.I.I.7.
0008 00 00

Well, you do need MenuItem7, not MenuStyle. That's a different setting.

It also shouldn't be HEX value, but a string value. Are you using the actual Windows registry editor, or some other editor?
