I was just wondering is classic shell still being worked upon? I see no release after April this year.

I was kind of hoping that the project would add some niceties of the start screen. I would like to see some grouping ability inside the programs menu without moving the shortcuts from the start menu folder. The ability to group installed applications by named sections would be nice. one would then be able to drag entire sections to rearrange the menu.

Thanks anyways for this great project I cannot stress how useful it has been to me on win 8.1

Yes, Classic Shell is still in active development. It is true that lately I've been busy with other things and had less time to spend on development than I wished.
Also I'm waiting to see what the August Update is going to bring. If there are any incompatibilities, they will be the highest priority to fix.

As for the start screen, I don't believe its behavior can be customized from external code like Classic Shell.

Maybe I was not clear enough. I meant that the start menu could do with some features which the start screen has such as grouping under sections
