heyas!
TL;DR--------------------------------------------------------------
i'm an xp user... :X i updated one of my win7 laptops to win10 to 'try before i buy.' and... actually, wow, it even left classic shell on when it installed.
so far, it seems fine. but i'm lost with "apps."
i know nothing of win8, next to nothing of win7, zero of win 10, and have no clue what... tiles are. swiping? no touchy. i'm no touchy.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
i'm using the Classic Style of Classic Start Menu. (the XP version.)
i have my start menu the way i wanted it, my program files the way i wanted them, everything is fine. the win10 update added an Apps entry under Programs.
and i don't know how to control these things.
i've gotten most of them 'uninstalled,' but... um... okay, since amazon has a free app of the day, i um... ::confesses:: kinda like apps. :X
TL;DR: Did So Far------------------------------------------------
i tried this forum thread:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3403to add separators in the "apps" menu. but that thread is actually how to add separators to the win7-style programs menu, not the actual apps menu from win 10.
i tried to find where the "physical" location of the Apps Start Menu is, to access it via Free Commander (file handling) from this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=6257but i can't find "shell:AppsFolder"? oh wait! i found it.
uh... yeah. i'm lost. totally lost.
and... now it's gone again.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
i guess i need a win10 instruction manual, but... if that's gonna start talking about commands like "swipe from the right and tap the thingydoodle," i'm gonna be lost, there, too.
can anybody point me to some guidance? thanks so much!
