I'm really not sure how to say this, but when I click on a document in the right pane of Explorer, I would like the tree pane on the left to open up and show the file that is being navigated through, on the right. You can see from this screenshot that I am in a folder that is part of my D partition, but that the tree pane on the left shows only the D partition, and is tracking with my navigating. I want the information highlighted on the top, to be seen on the left side of the graphic. http://paulrittman.com/Untitled.png I don't know if this is an Explorer option that I need to check, or is something that Classic Shell can take care of... |

Tools menu -> Folder Options. On General tab, check the option "Automatically expand to current folder". |

Thanks, that is a major improvement. That change shows me the folder that I'm in, and continues expanding in the left tree pane, as I drill down into sub-folders. Is there a way to get ALL the folders in that D partition to open up? What happens after I made this change, is that the only folder I can see on the tree pane is the one that I am currently in. Select the path under which you want all folders expanded and press * on the numeric keypad. Be careful of doing this on a folder with MANY subfolders as it may hang Explorer. |

Actually, checking that option above made all those "libraries" links appear again, so I'm going to keep this option unchecked. That was what I disliked the most about Vista/Win7 Explorer (actually what I disliked the most about Vista was simply that it froze up all the time, but I digress). So I'll just go back to the old way I had it before. Thanks anyways. |
