Installed CS 3.9.0 over 3.6.7 on my desktop - highlight works. Installed 3.9.0 on freshly formatted laptop (no drivers) - everything works but no highlight whatsoever. All the settings are exactly the same, using original skins.

What am I missing?

W7 Ultimate x86, btw.

Because it is freshly installed. For certain number of hours after a fresh installation, highlighting doesn't occur because otherwise everything would be highlighted.

Hm, first time I hear about this. You sure that's the case? Then how long this "certain time" is? Default Start Menu shows my programs in orange, only Classic Shell doesn't. If that's indeed the case, then it sounds to me that this "Certain time" should be configurable.

As per my previous thread - the fact that "highlight" goes away after 48 hours - that's something i'd like to see configurable as well. I'd much rather prefer to have it within 24 hours.

IIRC, programs installed within 12 hours of Windows are ignored by CSM. For the Windows Start menu, it is 1 hour according to this blog article: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/oldnewthing/arc ... 96690.aspx but that may have changed after Windows XP.

P.S. Default in Win7 seems to also be an hour.

I just found this. In the settings, click "Show all settings" on the top. Then under "General Behavior", it is (for me) the second choice.
