I think Text Glow is broken in the 4.2.6 beta...I had a skin with it working properly in 4.2.5, but that exact skin no longer shows text glow in 4.2.6 D:

EDIT: Forgot to mention that I am using Windows 8.1 update 1, and...I do have Aeroglass 8.1+ installed. Also it's a Windows 7 style skin.

Which Windows version are you using this skin on?

Yeah, I realized I forgot to mention that just now. I've now added it to the OP ^-^

...how did I forget that? I deal with the Spore equivalent so often, it's...idk >.<

Glow only works on Windows 7. No other versions of Windows support glow.

Well that's odd - either I was hallucinating, or it worked fine on Windows 8.1 update 1 for me when I was using 4.2.5 .

Anywaves, if that's so, then...would it be possible to replicate that feature on Windows 8 and newer...?

Drawing text with glow is not a simple task. Particularly with the amount of text you have in the start menu. Windows 7 does it using specifically optimized code, which will be hard to replicate.
It is possible that the AeroGlass mode has enabled that feature, but in a way that is incompatible with the new Classic Shell. That's unlikely because the text drawing hasn't changed.
You can of course verify this by going back to 4.2.5 to try it.

Mystery solved: The glow only appears if the Visual Style provides it. Idk about Aeroglass 8.1+ dependancy, but atleast now we've figured that much out

So...nevermind, I guess? .-.
