As Classic Shell appears to be the only way to customize the taskbar background (glass and transparency are lovely), I installed it. The only changes I ended up applying were to the taskbar, which I made more transparent, and applied the aero glass style. I didn't end up using any of the start menu changes or anything like that, as I like and am used to the overall layout of Windows 10. The program worked perfectly fine until I restarted my computer.

Upon a reboot, Windows Explorer will not start at all. I was unable to access my files or desktop. The rest of Windows, such as the Task Manager, Command Prompt, and Uninstall menu worked perfectly fine. I used them to uninstall Classic Shell, which fixed the problem after a restart.

I'd like to know if there's any known way to fix this problem, cos the taskbar looks kinda wierd being the only non-glass element on my PC, and I'd like to fix that. I am using Windows 10, and the only other Windows desktop modification programs I have running are Aero Glass and Rainmeter. I used the latest available stable version of Classic Shell (4.3.0).

This was a few weeks ago, for the record. I've been trying to find a solution since, but... nothing.

With Classic Shell installed, you could capture a crash dump using these steps: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6 using Command Prompt and Task Manager.

Once the cause of the Explorer crash is determined by analyzing the dump, it can be fixed (if it is caused by Classic Shell). Then you will be able to use the non-crashing version.
