I have 3 Server 2012 R2 Citrix servers that I want to use Classic Start Menu on. I simply want Classic Start Menu to run when any user logs on, new or otherwise. For 2 of the servers, it works fine, but on the 3rd server, Classic Start Menu never starts automatically. If I launch it from the .exe it works fine. As far as I can tell, all 3 servers are configured identically. I've also verified that Classic Start Menu is in the Registry set to autorun.

Please help.

Thanks

Download the Classic Shell Utility from here: http://www.classicshell.net/downloads/
Run it, save a system log file (on the machine that's not working), and send it to me.

It appears to be working. I see 13 start menu processes currently running. Do you not see a start menu?

This is a Citrix server and there are other users logged in right now that may have it running, but it is not running in my session that I ran the utility from. The only way I can get it to run is to manually launch the .exe from c:\program files...

If you create a shortcut to ClassicStartMenu.exe in the folder C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup, does it run automatically every time?

No it doesn't. Really weird. If I navigate to the folder and run it manually, it works fine.

Something is blocking it then. It might be some AV software or something. As a last resort you may try creating a scheduler task to launch the start menu on login.

Open the Properties of ClassicStartMenu.exe and make sure that it is not set to run as administrator from the "Compatibility" tab.
