Classic Explorer V. 3.6.8, with Win 7/64 bit.

This started just today (8/16). I noticed the Classic Explorer toolbar was missing. However, when I right clicked on the Menu Bar and select Google Toolbar, then the C/E toolbar icons appear in that Windows Explorer window.

If I open another Win Explorer window, I have to select Google Toolbar again.

Note: I do not have Google Toolbar active. In fact, I didn't even know I have it on my computer, I thought I removed it some time ago.

Note: When I activate Google Toolbar in I/E 9, then the C/E toolbar icons automatically appear in each Win Explorer window.

I rechecked all the steps in the Installation Instructions. All the settings are correct, including the Classic add-ons are enabled in IE.

However... when in Windows Explorer I click View - Toolbars, Classic Explorer bar is grayed out, and Google is not. But when I click Google Toolbar in Win Explorer, then the Classic Toolbar appears -- again, only in that window.

I don't know how Google Toolbar got into Windows Explorer. I see nothing in folder options relating to google.

As I said, this started just today. The only step I haven't done is uninstall and reinstall Classic Shell. I'm hoping someone here can figure out what happened. :?: :?: :?:

Thanks.

Explorer sometimes gets confused if there are multiple toolbars. You can reset it by deleting the ITBar7Layout value as described here: http://qttabbar.sourceforge.net/?p=79

What will happen in IE and Win Explorer if I change that value? I'm asking because:

In IE I have only the menu bar and the Classic status bars showing. I don't want to hide those two.

In Win Explorer I have the Menu bar and the bar under it, the one with Organize-Include in library, etc. on the left, and the icons for change view, hide preview window and ? on the right end. I use the items on the right.

I believe it will just reset the toolbars and the menus in WE. To be safe, don't delete it but rename it, so you can restore it later.

I might have solved the problem. I uninstalled Google Toolbar, which I don't remember installing. The installation date shown in the installed program list is today, 8/16. I know some program installations will install the google (or other) toolbar if you don't uncheck the option, BUT I didn't install any software today.

Okay, this isn't a Classic Shell issue, but it could happen to others who use Classic Shell.

The important thing is that the Classic Exlorer toolbar icons are again appearing in each window.
