Hi,

First: I'm from Germany, so my English is not perfect at all. Please be patient with me =)

My problem: in windows explorer, the classic explorer bar is grayed out.
So I had a look at the IE-settings and classic explorer bar is deactivated
there. But I'm not able to activate it!
I'm using Windows 7, IE 10 and avast. What is wrong???
Please help! Thanks!

Is it possible that the third-party browser extensions are disabled? http://www.classicshell.net/faq/#explorer_toolbar

Did you try both steps 1 and 2 in this link? http://www.classicshell.net/faq/#explorer_toolbar

Also, sometimes Explorer gets confused between addons. To fix this, open Registry Editor (Regedit.exe), go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\ShellBrowser and delete the ITBar7Layout value.

The toolbar only exists for Windows Explorer, not IE. Also, you might have to turn it on.

On Windows 7, press Alt+V and use the Toolbars submenu to enable it.

On Windows 8 or Windows 10, go to the View tab of the Ribbon. Look for the "Options" button on the View tab of the Ribbon and click the arrow below it. Does it show you "Classic Explorer Bar"?

I work with Windows 7.

And I know, that it's a toolbar for the Windows explorer, but I have to activate it in IE, don't I?
But there's the problem, I can't activate it.

I already reinstalled classic shell and it worked then - until the next reboot.
Could it be that the problem is avast??

Download the Classic Shell Utility from here: http://www.classicshell.net/downloads/
Run it, save a log file and send it to me
