I found a picture that I made into a start button. I managed to make it transparent, and to make it move in the standard button configuration. I like it, but I wish to animate it. I lack the skill to rotate the picture in gimp, or any other paint program. Can anybody help with this?

I'm sure there is software out there that can make it rotate, like SolidWorks, or image software, like Adobe flash.
Could do a google search on how to draw a rotating ball.

Or just do it the old fashioned way like drawing a cartoon.
Draw extra longitude and latitude mesh lines to increase the amount of red and white spaces already there.
Then just the fill areas red/white one over each frame, progressing in one direction, so to give it rotation.

Hold on,I think I found a site that looks very similar to what you have.

You could read how to do it on this site:

http://www.amigalog.com/amiga-boing-bal ... animation/

or
You could borrow one of their rotating balls like I put here. It is a gif.
You would need to use a free site like:

http://gifmaker.me/

to split the gif into frames.
Then use those frames to make Classic Shell animated button.
Probably only use every other frame to speed it up?
The rest is up to you, to learn. :)

Hmm..wonder what a rotating world would look like as a start button?

Looks like Giuseppe has png frames already, on that web page.
Ready for you to download. It's like he wants you to play with them.

Oh my.
Even more balls here:

Looks like were made in early 1990 something.

Sorry, I have to apologize about recommending the gif maker/splitter.
Found out does not retain the transparency.

I don't really want to spend hours trying out the hundreds out there to figure is the best.
Read something somewhere it has to be coalesced. Don't know how to do that.

So to make up for it, I made one for you a different way.

Here you go. :D

Nice ones, thank you both! If you find something related to the Amiga arrow (my avatar a version of it), please post it.

Hi MenuPeak.

If you are in love with Amiga,
I see there is an Amiga site:

http://www.amiga.org/gallery/

There is gallery artwork, that could be used to make a start button, or wallpaper.
