Having selected the Metro skin my menu looks as I want it except for the olive green highlight colour. I would much rather that be magenta or red. Is there any way I can change that please? And can the user picture be larger?

For the highlight color, you will have to edit the C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\Skins\Metro.skin7 file in an elevated (administrator) instance of Resource Hacker.

The selection defining values are:
Main_new_selection
Main_new_selection_tint1
Main_new_selection_mask
Main2_new_selection
Main2_new_selection_tint1
Main2_new_selection_mask
Programs_new_selection
Programs_new_selection_tint1
Programs_new_selection_mask
Submenu_new_selection
Submenu_new_selection_tint1
Submenu_new_selection_mask

For Metro skins, the color table can be looked up using the Classic Shell Utility. Read this post: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4879&p=20716

Unless I'm doing something wrong, Resource Hacker can't find any of the above in the Metro.skin7 file.
And the only hex color it shows for the rest is #7F0000 (dark red) which is nothing like the olive green showing in mine. Ideally I would like it to be either #ff0000 or #ff0097.

I must admit I had no idea it would be so difficult and felt it could be achieved by clicking on a button somewhere in Classic Shell Menu.
For people with programming experience it is probably very simple however I have none. :(
