I am running on Windows 8 but am used to Windows 7, so I chose that option.
I have looked through all the settings but I cannot see where one changes the number of recent programs. (I'm not referring to recent items).
In Windows 7 I had the start menu configured for a height of 15 items, so the whole start menu went about half way up the screen, with a good long list of previously run programs immediately available to run with one click.
Can you help please?
(I have also tried Start8, which has this option.)

Thanks. I've set it to 20.
How do I get them in alphabetical order? I tried unticking "Show recent programs on top" but that didn't seem to do anything?

It might be an idea for a new option? I thought I had seen a start menu working like this.
